New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): Designer Rajesh Pratap Singh showed his collection depicting the art and craft of Indian fashion and trade, for the grand finale of 15th edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week here on Sunday.
Singh's collection for the show, themed 'Bespoke Tales', expressed the progression of the fine art of making clothes as seen by the ingenious tailor.
His collection for the show was a play of contrasts, with hard and soft strokes and structured clothing, softly moulded in his trademark style.
While interacting with media, Singh said that his collection was quite basic and the show was simple.
"There were basic colours, they were soft and structured at the same time. There were various contrasts. We worked with opaque and transparent. It was a small show and it was quite basic," said Singh.
The collection had many shades, techniques and styles, featuring transparent and opaque, as well as matte and bling sequences.
"Eighty percent of the fabrics were hand-woven. We make our own fabrics. Most of the fabrics were double clothed. It was cashmere on one side and silk satin on other. It was double clothed. They were all reversible clothing. You could turn the clothes inside out and wear it," he said.
The WIFW-AW 2010, hosted by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), witnessed the participation of 130 designers, 75 of whom also presented shows, and among whom 19 are debutants.
The fashion extravaganza, which has been extended for a day till March 29 due to the cancellation of its first day's runway shows, features 43 ramp-events. (ANI)
