Islamabad, Mar.25 (ANI): Hard-hitting Pakistan batsman Shahzaib Hasan Khan has expressed disappointment over not being selected in the 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Championship.
Shahzaib said he was expecting a call for from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) particularly after performing well in the recent past.
He played an impressive knock of 67 off just 42 deliveries in a T20 match against the senior team just a couple of days ago but that too failed to impress the selectors.
"I wanted to impress the new coach and selectors with my performance. When I failed in the first match against Pakistan U19 team, I was really determined to make up for it in the second match," PakPassion.net quoted Shahzaib, as saying.
Shahzaib represented Pakistan in four matches in the 2009 T20 World Cup, scoring 77 runs at an average of 19, but has not been a part of the national squad since then.
The entertaining batsman, who has often been criticised for lack of patience, said he has realised the need of batting sensibly and according to the situation of the game.
"I have realized that I need to add patience to my game even in T20 format and not go out there all guns blazing. This may mean a slight change in style, but it's for the overall betterment of my ame," he said. (ANI)
