'We would examine the issue of Maharashtra ATS chief,' says Chavan

Mumbai, Mar 18 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has said he would examine state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) chief K.P. Raghuvanshi's recent disclosure to the media about certain crucial details related to a terror investigation.

 

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Chavan said: " "I will examine the entire issue and then ask the state Home Minister to take necessary steps in the matter".e further said the Centre is definitely unhappy with the way some information has gone outside because it has hampered the investigation to some extent.

 

Chavan said that until and unless the investigations are concluded, it could be harmful if details are revealed.

 

"I am not going to comment anything at the moment. On this issue, I just want to say that till the time the issue of investigation does not get concluded, it can be harmful if revealed," added Chavan.

 

The ATS team arrested two men, Abdul Latif alias Guddu and Royas Ali alias Rehan in Mumbai on Sunday and they were suspected of having planned bomb attacks in the city.

 

While addressing the media, Raghuvanshi gave away the details that the two were planning to blow up installations of the government owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Thakkar Mall and Mangaldas Market. (ANI)
