New Delhi/Shimla, Mar 13 (ANI): Tibetans living in-exile in India staged a protest demonstration outside the Chinese Embassy here on Friday to mark the 51st anniversary of the Tibetan Women's Uprising Day which came two days after an uprising led by the Dalai Lama against Chinese rule in 1959.
Waving the Tibetan flags, few young Tibetan men and women rushed towards the Chinese Embassy.
"There is no Human Rights in Tibet, it shows that Tibet is not part of China, we are a free country," said one of the protester.
The protestors were later arrested by the police.
In Shimla, a candlelight march was held under the banner of Regional Tibetan Women's Association (RTWA) to pay tributes to those killed.
Scores of Tibetan women including Buddhist monks and schoolgirls participated in a peace march in the city.
Every year, the anniversary of the day of women's uprising is marked by widespread protests across the globe. (ANI)
