London, Feb 27(ANI): Former Manchester United midfielder Dwight Yorke's playboy image brought a premature end to his four-year stint at the club, but he has no regrets and claims that he would not swap some of the women for another season at Old Trafford.
Earlier in the 2001-02 season, Yorke had lost his place in the squad after a fall-out with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, following his much publicized relationship with British model Jordan. In 2003, he was sold to Blackburn Rovers for two million pounds.
"Would I give up the women and nights out for another year at United? Would that make me happy? Would that make me the person I am today? I'm not so sure," The Daily Express quoted Yorke, as saying.
"What you see is what you get with me and that's how I was. Even though my time was cut short at United because of my nights out and the women, I have no hang-ups about that, it made me feel happy. I went to United to win things and I achieved that," he added.
The 38-year-old further said that he does not believe in marriage, as the old-fashioned relationship has gone out of the window and people no longer try to save their marriage. When I came to England, getting married and starting a family was a tradition. But three quarters of the players who got married then, at the age of 24 and 25, are probably divorced. Players should just enjoy their lives and when the time comes they'll know if it's right to get married," Yorke said.
"Being a single man and having different women is the way to go, rather then being married and having all these other women on the side. When you're married, it looks bad if you're fooling around.
If you're single, then you're just enjoying your life. I'd rather be in my position than be in the position of Tiger Woods, trust me," he added. (ANI)
