Islamabad, Feb.24 (ANI): Former England great Geoffrey Boycott has described swashbuckling Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi as the best bowling all-rounder in one-day cricket at present.
"Afridi is fantastic, I love watching him play the game of cricket. He's great for the game, he's an entertainer and I think he is currently the best bowling all rounder in the world when it comes to one day cricket," PakPassion.net quoted Boycott, as saying.
The former England and Yorkshire batsman spoke highly of Afridi's wrist spin and said he is a difficult bowler to score runs of.
"Batsman are ok when they are blocking his bowling, but when they try to attack him and try to score runs off him, that is entirely a different matter. There are a lot of batsmen out there who cannot pick his bowling and I think he's an excellent wrist spinner," Boycott said.
Boycott, however, was unimpressed by Afridi's impetiousity when it came to batting.
"That is an entirely different matter to his bowling. I feel that he can't concentrate for more than three deliveries and if he hasn't scored off two deliveries you know that something interesting is about to happen on that third delivery,," he said.
Afridi's arrival on the international cricket stage was marked by his hard hitting, and he was mainly known for his booming hits over the boundary. But over a period of time his batting form has drastically slumped.
He also holds the record for scoring the fastest century in one-day internationals (off 37 balls). (ANI)
