Dubai, Feb.25 (ANI): England captain Paul Collingwood has lauded Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq for his match winning knock during Saturday's T20 match here which enabled his team level the series 1-1, and said it was not a matter of shame in losing to such an innings.
Razzaq's destructive innings of 46 runs in 18 balls included five sixes. He hit 17 off debutant Ajmal Shahzad in the penultimate over to clinch the win with six balls remaining.
"There's no shame in losing like that, our two performances have been very, very good here. In Twenty20 cricket it only takes one batsman to have an exceptional innings and that's exactly what he did. It was pure hitting and very hard to bowl at him," Collingwood said after Pakistan registered a sensational four wicket win over England.
Backing Shahzad, Collingwood said he did nothing wrong during the over which changed the whole game.
"He's come in against the world's best Twenty20 side and it's not easy when you're bowling against guys like that. But he's got the talent and he certainly has the pace and the aggression to go with it. He'll learn a hell of a lot from this experience. I know he enjoyed it, which is a good thing," The News quoted Collingwood, as saying. (ANI)
