London, Feb 15 (ANI): British composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's first show of 'The Phantom of the Opera' sequel in London's West End has been cancelled after theatre bosses decided the production was "unsafe".
"Love Never Dies' will officially open at the Adelphi Theatre on March 9, with previews scheduled to begin on February 20.
But the first performance has been axed to allow the actors more time to rehearse and to ensure the production's staging is safe.
"(The delay is) to allow two days' extra rehearsal time and a break to ensure that the first performance is not presented by a company and crew exhausted at the end of a long technical week," the Daily Express quoted a statement from the show's producers as stating.
"The producers have taken this decision early, halfway through the complex technical period, in order to ensure that all affected are able to make other arrangements as soon as possible," it read.
The statement also added that 'Love Never Dies' is "a show still not in a technically safe and secure state".
The first preview will now take place on February 22. (ANI)
