Family members mourn Pune blast victims

Mumbai/Pune, Feb 15 (ANI): Vinita Gadani who have been alive today had she turned down the request of her friends to meet at German Bakery on Saturday.

 

Gadani, a twenty-two year old IT professional, was working in Pune and had come to stay with her family in Mumbai after her elder sister got engaged. Gadani's friends insisted on her joining them for a get-together at the bakery, ahead of the Valentine Day and she could not resist it.

 

Family members of Gadani are yet to come to terms with their loss.

 

Shaileja Girkar, deputy mayor, Mumbai civic agency who came to meet the family to condole the death of the Gadani, accused the State government for failing to act despite intelligence inputs about the blast.

 

"It was coming in television that the government had prior intimation about the blast, but despite that, it had done nothing," Girkar added.

 

The bomb, which killed nine people and wounded at least 57, is seen as the first major attack on India since the 2008 Mumbai terrors attack.

 

The blast took place at the German Bakery, located close to the Osho Ashram and Chabad House, a Jewish prayer house on Saturday. (ANI)
