Chennai, Feb 14 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna on Sunday expressed confidence that India would resist the forces of terrorism, but declined to comment on the fate of the Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pune terror strike.
India and Pakistan Foreign Secretary level talks face uncertainty following Saturday's strike at a German bakery in Pune, in which nine persons, including three foreigners were killed and over 50 injured.
Both countries had earlier decided to hold the talks on February 25.
Interacting with the media here, Krishna termed the blast as "most tragic and unfortunate."
"We will resist the forces of terrorism resolutely and with firmness and determination," he said.
"I am not going to talk about the talks right now. Let us wait for the report of the investigative agencies first," Krishna added.
Earlier, in an attempt to defuse the tension between India and Pakistan, both countries had recently decided to hold the foreign secretary-level talks.
"Once the report is available, the government will evaluate the whole situation and then we will do deep monitoring," Krishna said.
"They (terrorists) want to create fear and suspicion," Krishna said, adding, "They sow seeds of distress to create confusion and we will not be cowed down by the terror." (ANI)
