Mumbai, Feb 13 (ANI): Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has lashed out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, saying it is not clear whether he is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra or the bodyguard of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan.
In an editorial in the Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna'tiltled 'Is Chavan the Chief Minister of Maharashtra or actor Shah Rukh Khan's bodyguard?' Thackeray says if it is the latter, then he should adorn the uniform of a security guard and stand outside Khan's 'Mannat' bungalow here, saluting the passers-by.
"What different work has Chavan done for the last seven-eight days?" added Thackeray.
Referring to the police action against Shiv Sena activists, who were seeking to prevent the release of Khan's film 'My Name is Khan', Thackeray writes that the entire police force was used as Khan's slave and domestic help.
"The only thing that remains is to erect a marble memorial for Kasab and his nine dead accomplices and ask policemen to salute it," he added.
Thackeray had on Friday accused Chavan of playing vote-bank politics in the name of ensuring the safe release of Khan's film.
Further criticising Chavan, Thackeray said, "He arrested thousands of Shiv Sainiks and beat them up till they bled and put them in jail. In the end there was no place remaining in jail. For one Khan, how weak and helpless the Chief Minister has become."
The Shiv Sena was earlier upset with Khan's statements that Pakistani cricketers should be allowed to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) inspite of the 26/11-terror attack. (ANI)
