London, Feb 13(ANI): England stand-in skipper Alastair Cook has been preparing for his first tour as captain by delivering lambs late at night on a farm in Buckinghamshire, England.
Cook has been involved in agricultural midwifery, as his girlfriend Alice Hunt's parents keep livestock.
"My girlfriend's parents have a farm near Woburn, and I've been helping out with the lambing. The lambs have already started arriving, and we were delivering one at 11 o'clock last night," The Mirror quoted Cook, as saying.
"I've been involved in that side of the farm for the last five years but I always tend to disappear on tour at the busiest times, which gives me a get-out clause. What's the secret to lambing? Small hands - which I haven't got," he added.
Cook leads the side to Bangladesh knowing that they will be lambs to the slaughter if they lose against Test cricket's whipping boys.
If England loses to Bangladesh, who have lost 54 of their 63 Tests, Cook will go down as the national side's worst captain since the man who lost all three games as a stand-in skipper in 1990, Allan Lamb. (ANI)
