New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is on a two-day state visit to India, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Thursday.
Both leaders reportedly exchanged views on fresh efforts at initiating a peace process in the troubled region, especially the Russian proposal for an end-of-the-month meeting of the Quartet of the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and the U.S.
Dr Singh announced a grant of ten million dollars as budget support to the Palestinian National Authority.
He also assured President Abbas of India's support to their efforts aimed at economic and social development.
President Abbas will have a meeting with Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor today before leaving for Islamabad. (ANI)
