Mumbai, Feb 5 (ANI): The Bandra Muslim Association, an Islamic forum in Mumbai has come out in Shahrukh Khan's support after he drew flak from the Shiv Sena for his comment on the non-inclusion of Pakistani players in the IPL.
Addressing media persons here on Thursday, Farooq Gosahi, the President of the Bandra Muslim Association, said the forum was founded to protect the security and safety of members of their community, and as such it would prevent any attack on Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh belong to the Bandra area and he is being targeted because he is a Muslim actor. We have been noticing the statements made by Sena leaders in the last few days and we won't allow this to continue."
"The government should take stern action and arrest Uddhav Thackeray, or we will come out on the streets. We will guard the home of the actor and, if Sena protestors come to their residence, our youth will protest. We will answer the Sena people using their own methods, he added.
Khan, one of the owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket team had said Pakistani players ought to have been considered in the preliminary auction of the players by the franchising teams.
This invited the latest Shiv Sena's wrath, and its activists attacked cinema halls screening Khan's latest movie 'My Name is Khan'. (ANI)
