Jammu, Jan 29 (ANI): Trauma and agony felt by the people after militancy struck scenic Kashmir Valley has been depicted by a deaf and mute painter in the form of some very emotive and eye catching paintings.

Kamal Nain Bhan might not be able to hear the sounds around him but he is very much in sync with the distress and suffering of the people, which he portrays on canvas. The solo show of his paintings titled "Kashmir: Outpouring Emotions", which opened here recently was a visual treat for the spectators.

His paintings reflect the turmoil of the turbulent times that Kashmir underwent since the time militancy struck the valley in 1989 and the agony that the Kashmiri Pandits has gone through in Kashmir.

There is also a touch of agony in his works that come out as a kind of lamentation to the unfortunate stress and strife that his motherland has gone through.

"When militancy struck Kashmir, he started making paintings which reflected the agony and anguish felt by him from 1990 to 2008. He has also tried to capture the pain and feelings he underwent after migration on canvas," said O.P. Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Academy of Art and Culture. (ANI)
