New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits protested against Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari and condemned his statement on Wednesday.
Tiwari had reportedly commented about the compulsions which led Kashmiri Hindus for the exodus from the Valley region, leaving behind home and hearth during the 1990s.
Upset over such his utterance, the Kashmiri Hindu Samiti termed Tiwari's statement as immature and insensitive to their plight of exile that completed two decades as on 19 January 2010.
"The statement is baseless and it has hurt the sentiments of all the Kashmiri Hindus," said L N Dhar, President, Kashmiri Samiti Delhi.
The protestors sought an immediate unconditional apology from Tiwari or a clarification by the Congress Party.
The Samiti also threatened to launch a nationwide protest.
On January, 23, participating in NDTV's programme 'Big Fight' Tiwari had said the Kashmiri Pandits were not driven out by the militants but they left the valley because of the fear psychosis created by the then Governor Jagmohan. (ANI)
