London, Jan 22 (ANI): Former Abba bandmates Bjorn Ulvaeus and Anna-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad are set to make an appearance on the premiere of a new exhibition that celebrates their band's success.

The interactive exhibition called The Abba World features the original stage costumes worn by Ulvaeus, Lyngstad, Agnetha Faltskog and Benny Andersson for their winning performance.

The display has been put together by Ingmarie Halling, who used to design group's tour costumes.

She said the outfits played an important part in Abba's victory.

"The tune was good but then the song contest was quite a stiff upper lip thing. People were in black tie applauding politely," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

"Suddenly this group came out in crazy hippy outfits. It made a mark, then you remember them. That's why they did it," she added.

The visitors can watch a short introductory film helmed by acclaimed director Jonas Akerlund, who has worked with Madonna, Metallica and U2, before testing their knowledge with a tough interactive quiz.

An audio tour also takes the visitors around recreations of the group's studio and the cabin on the Swedish island of Viggso where Ulvaeus and Andersson wrote hits including Ring Ring, Waterloo, Fernando and Dancing Queen.

According to Mats Daleskog, senior director of production with Touring Exhibitions, which is staging the exhibition, much of the memorabilia has been loaned by the group themselves who have all given their blessing to the show.

"They have a wide target group, especially with Mamma Mia!, from small children to 80-year-olds," he said.

"As you walk round you instantly start singing along. It really triggers a lot of memories.

"Most age groups have different memories of Abba," he added. (ANI)
