Pak cable association to 'black out' IPL-3 matches

Lahore, Fri, 22 Jan 2010 ANI

Lahore, Jan.22 (ANI): Pakistani cable operators have decided not to air any matches of the Indian Premier League's (IPL) third edition to protest against the 'insulting' treatment meted out to their cricketers this week's player auction.

Cable Operators Association of Pakistan (CAP) president Captain (retired) Jabbar Ahmad, while condemning the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) for the IPL snub, said none of the IPL-3 matches would be telecast in Pakistan.

It may be noted that Sports Minister Ejaz Jakhrani had called for a ban of IPL matches in Pakistan, and urged the Indian Government to look into reasons behind the decision to not buy any of the 11 Pakistani players on auction.

"I think if the Indian Government says it can't interfere in IPL affairs as it is a private organization, then it should at least find out why our players were humiliated in this fashion," Jakhrani said. (ANI)
