Melbourne, Jan.22 (ANI): Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has labelled Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Yousuf's tactics in the recently held Sydney cricket Test as horrendous.
Warne believes that Yousuf adopted defensive fields to give Ricky Ponting's men a sniff of hope.
Reflecting on the Test series, Warne said: "It would have been one-all going to Hobart, which would have been awesome. It would have been a great Test match going to Hobart for the last one. Unfortunately, the captaincy was horrendous from Mohammad Yousuf. He let Australia back into the game."
"He had eight fielders on the fence, then nine the next morning. It was like, 'Hang on, what's going on here, why aren't they trying to win this game?' In the end Australia got 170 or 180 ahead and once they got to that, you felt Australia were going to win," the Daily Telegraph quoted Warne, as saying.
Warne, however, said that in the one-day format, the Pakistan team is much better. (ANI)
