Bhopal, Jan 19 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday admitted that people from political families have the benefit if they want to enter politics.
Addressing the media in Bhopal, Gandhi said family ties definitely help in politics and that he attained a mark in politics because of his family background.
Rahul Gandhi said, " What is the fact, the fact is that if my grandmother, my father and my great grandfather would not have been in politics, then I wouldn't have been here. This is the reality. And examples can be seen in the entire country."
"There are several capable boys and girls who don't have any friends, relatives or any other connection in politics," added Gandhi.
Speaking on the issue of price rise, Gandhi said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has assured him that the price rise would be controlled soon.
"Price rise is a big issue. I have spoken to Prime Minister also and have asked him about this. He has told me that the pressure on price rise will come down in some time," added Gandhi.
Gandhi, who is on a two-day tour of Madhya Pradesh, also met students in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar and Bhopal. (ANI)
