London, Jan 19(ANI): AC Milan midfielder David Beckham has said that he would not celebrate if he scores against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Beckham is relishing his first competitive return to the stadium where he spent much of his career, when Milan face United in their Champions League second round tie in March.
"It's going to be a weird feeling playing against United at Old Trafford, but I am ready for it now. Over the years, when I was at Real Madrid, I always hoped I would go back, but there was something inside me saying 'it wouldn't be right at the moment'," The Mirror quoted Beckham, as saying.I always felt I wasn't quite ready to go back, but as soon as I found out about the Champions League draw last month, it felt right," he added.
Beckham further said that it would be difficult for him to be playing against the club where he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one Champions League trophy in a glorious ten-year period.
"The thing is with Manchester United and AC Milan, they have terrific respect for each other. That's between the managers, the players, the fans and the clubs. Emotionally, it is going to be very difficult after not playing there for seven years, but it is something I can't wait for now. To be back in that stadium will be fantastic," Beckham said.
"I wouldn't celebrate if I scored. It would take me a split second to compose myself and remind myself I couldn't celebrate because when you score a goal, it's a rush and it's an instinct to celebrate, but if it happened at Old Trafford, I would curb that instinct," he added. (ANI)
