Lahore, Jan.19 (ANI): 'Under fire' for mishandling issues in the board, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt has readied various recommendations to table before President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also the PCB's patron.
Butt's recommendations are seen as an effort to thwart the Federal Sports Ministry's plan to control the PCB's management.
It may be noted that the Sports Ministry, recently, approved 16 amendments in the proposed drafts of the PCB constitution in a joint meeting with Butt, which is said to be aimed at gaining control of the board and to establishing a direct link with the Patron.
The PCB chief, in his recommendations, has raised objection over the Sports Ministry's refusal to allow the board's official members to advice or guide him (the chairman) about with the amendments, The Dawn reports.
Butt has also challenged the Sports Ministry's move of sending the proposed draft of the constitution to the federal law ministry for screening. (ANI)
