Major fire at chemical factory near Shirdi in Maharashtra

Kopargaon (Shirdi), Jan.17 (ANI): A major fire has occurred at a chemical factory in Kopargaon near popular religious center Shirdi and reportedly escalated to the nearby shops.

At least seven fire tenders have been rushed to the place of incident to control the flames and efforts are on to prevent further escalation of fire or damage to any other property near to it, said a private channel report on Sunday evening.

Police personnel have cordoned off the area and efforts to control the flames are on.

The latest reports stated that more explosions are still taking place at the chemical factory.

The amount of loss caused to the properties could not be estimated initially. (ANI)
