Hobart (Tasmania, Australia), Jan.17 (ANI): Pakistan still needs 335 runs to avoid a series whitewash against Australia, with just a day left in the third and final cricket Test being played at the Bellrieve Oval here.
The fourth day's play was called off because of rain. At the draw of stumps, Pakistan had scored 103 for the loss of four wickets, chasing an almost improbable final innings score of 438 for victory.
At the crease, were Khurram Manzoor on 23 with two boundaries and former skipper Shoaib Malik on 18 with two boundaries. The wicket-takers for Australia were Shane Watson (two wickets), Peter Siddle and Doug Bollinger (one each).
Earlier, batting for a second time, Australia scored 219 for the loss of five wickets, setting Pakistan a target of 438 for a win.
For Australia, opener Simon Katich scored a century, while skipper Ricky Ponting followed up his double in the first innings with 89 in the second.(ANI)
