Chennai, Jan 13 (ANI): Over 1500 students of Chennai-based Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School capitalised on their artistic talents to send a message of 'Save the Mother Earth' through mural art on Tuesday.

The school administration and participating young students wished that their efforts on such a large scale are endorsed by the Limca Book of Records.

The management of the school took this initiative and mooted the young students to show their skills in the traditional mural art which resulted in beautiful piece of artwork painted directly on the wall, ceiling and other solid bases such as pots.

Students chose to paint flower vases of various shapes and assorted structures with plants and flowers depicting the exquisiteness of Mother Nature.

"We have joined together to create an awareness about global warming. We have done mural artwork and this is to create awareness among public and the students about the global warming by planting more trees to curb it. This may help us to develop a good future and for everyone and for the Earth. We hope this attempt enters into Limca Book of Records," said Sangvi, a participant.

Indeed, on their part, the students who otherwise regale in weird and childish graffiti were an excited lot for this collective work of murals with a universal objective.ubbling with enthusiasm they lent their artistic traits a worthy try for an eternal green earth for the mankind to reside.

The school principle, P Prabakaran was proud of his students' feat and hoped their thoughts would be a reality, courtesy the visitors viewing the record mural creations.

"Around 1500 students, both boys and girls are taking part in this mega event. The main idea of arranging this programme in the school premises is to create awareness to the public and school children about our planet mother earth," said Prabakaran. (ANI)
