Kolkata, Jan 12 (ANI): Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan who is also co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) twenty20 cricket tournament visited his team practicing at the nets in Kolkata.
He interacted candidly with the players as well as the skipper Sourav Ganguly and coaches Wasim Akram of Pakistan and Dave Whatmore, conducting the training sessions.
He also watched the practice session of the team and met the young players.ater talking to reporters, Khan said that though the team had not performed well in the IPL seasons so far, he hoped it would give an improved performance in the forthcoming season and make the city proud.
As for having more international players in the team, he said that picture would be clearer by the end of this week.
"I think the decision will be taken by Jan. 17 or 18, because we have so many prospects. We will also get a clear picture about some of the availability of international players. We already have that but we will get a complete clear picture. We want to wait till last minute so that we are very clear, who is available, when, what, how. We will try and go for the player and hopefully get him," he added.
Reacting to the ongoing revolt by the hockey players of the national team, Khan shared his concern and wished the administrators would resolve the issue.
"I guess everyone has to take their stand in the way they feel...deemed fit. And I hope it gets resolved. See it's not really nice that there is a strike, and it's not really nice that they should go and work when they are feeling little unhappy or at least unattended to, in some aspect of economics. I think it should just get resolved, as all of us Indians, we should hope that the strike ends and both of the parties are happy. The organisers, the administrators are happy and the players are even happier," added Khan. (ANI)
