Mobile Entertainment with Nokia and Om Shanti Om

Nov 11: Nokia lately has made available mobile entertainment content in collaboration with the Hindi film Om Shanti Om (OSO) to enhance mobile user’s experience. With this, Nokia handset users can easily download movie clips, ringtones, wallpapers and behind the scenes videos.

Mobile entertainment is the next promotion and business aspect of Indian film industry, as Bollywood, the fastest growing entertainment industry, these days is gaining momentum not only in India but also in overseas market. So it was obvious for a tie-up between mobile and film production companies keeping in mind the ever increasing mobile phone users in India.

As Bollywood is one of the popular sources of mobile content apart from sports and fashion, this ‘Mobile Bollywood’ initiative will further add to the growth of mobility industry. Nokia the leading handset providers in the world has also made some funny and pleasing animated character from the movie OSO to provide users an enhanced media rich mobile experience.

The animated character of ‘ Om’ can be downloaded on all Nokia GPRS enabled mobile devices by just dialling 55555. Even one can get those from http://www.neo.co.in/neo/nokia/oso/index.asp, a special website designed by Nokia and OSO association.

Nokia has also opened up a contest named “Meet the Superstar” in which any person who buys a Nokia handset of 6233, 3110classic, 5700, 3500, 6300, 5300, 5200 model will have to answer a question and 40 lucky couples from all over India to win a grand chance to meet the superstar Sharukh Khan in Mumbai.

Speaking after the inauguration of this initiative Bob McDougall, director sales of Nokia, India said “ Mobile entertainment is one of the key strategies of the company and is poised to drive the mobility industry in a big way.”

With the upcoming 3rd Generation (3G) mobile phones such mobile-entertainment concept will increase revenue from entertainment service.
