Mohammad Yousuf vows to give his best for Pakistan

Hobart, Sun, 10 Jan 2010 ANI

Hobart, Jan. 10 (ANI): Pakistani skipper Mohammad Yousuf, who has come under fire following the test debacle in Australia, has said that he would continue to give his best for Pakistan despite criticism.

"The pressure might be there. But we are here to play for Pakistan and that will give us the courage to do well. We have tried our best on this tour so far but things have not gone our way," The News quoted Yousuf, as saying.

"We have lost both the Tests but people should also look at the positives. We have played good cricket in most sessions but people are just talking about the bad ones," he added.

The Pakistan captain is well aware of the fact that he could be stripped of captaincy as easily as he got it last November when Younis Khan pulled out of the Test tour of New Zealand.

Yousuf said that he and his team were ready to bounce back in Hobart to avoid what could be Pakistan's fourth consecutive 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia.

"It will be an all new match here. We lost in Melbourne but not after giving Australia a good fight," Yousuf said.

"We lost in Sydney but dominated the Test for three of the four days. We can go and do even better in Hobart. I'm not saying whether we will win here but I can promise that we will play good cricket," he added. (ANI)
