"Indian coast guard and Indian navy will take all steps necessary to guarantee coastal security to Kerala and also to all other coastal states. And whenever our fishermen are in distress, we can rest assure that we are there as their saviors when every attempt is failed," he said.

Antony further added that more ships, boats, aircrafts and manpower are required to strengthen the Indian coastguard.

He said process of acquisition of 20 fast patrolling vessels, 41 introspective boats, 10 coastal survey aircrafts and 7 offshore patrolling vehicles is well underway. (ANI)
