London, Jan 8 (ANI): A Judge issued a warrant to arrest England soccer ace Jermain Defoe on Thursday, but his lawyer has got it withdrawn.
The Spurs striker failed to show at Watford Magistrates' Court over a speeding charge.
Lawyer Nick Freeman rang and persuaded a magistrate to withdraw the warrant.
The Tottenham Hotspur ace striker had pleaded guilty to a speeding charge, and admitted driving at a speed of 45mph in a 30mph zone in Portsmouth, just months after being banned from the road for speeding offences.
He pleaded not guilty through his barrister to a second charge of failing to give his details.
Defoe was earlier this year disqualified from driving for six months for previous speeding offences but had the sentence overturned on appeal.
His previous driving raps were four points for speeding on October 4, 2008, six points for speeding on April 18, 2009, disqualified from driving for six months on July 14, 2008, and a further six-month ban on July 10, 2009. (ANI)
