London, Jan 8 (ANI): American forward Landon Donovan has admitted that he got it all wrong about his LA Galaxy teammate David Beckham.
Donovan attacked Beckham in his book in July, calling into question his commitment to the MLS side and labelling him a bad teammate.
But the 27-year-old American forward has kissed and made up and Beckham has even been texting to wish him well for his three months at Everton.
"David is a very humble, good human being. Unfortunately, I didn't give him a chance to show that. I had an idea of what he was like before he got here and that was unfair on my part," The Sun quoted Donovan, as saying.
"When I reflected on that situation I realised I didn't give that proper chance to David like I would to other people. In doing that I realised what a good teammate and person he is. He is just so famous around the world so sometimes you have expectations or ideas of what people are and you don't give them a chance.
"David is just a good person and a good teammate. He's a fantastic soccer player and, for me, very suited to the way I play. We get along a lot better now. Last year was really good and we're fine now. The texts have been going back and forth. David and I speak a lot about his time here and he is confident I will do fine," Donovan added.
Donovan and Beckham may be team-mates in the United States, but they could face each other on June 12 when England face the Americans in their opening World Cup group game. (ANI)
