Washington, Fri, 08 Jan 2010 ANI

Washington, Jan 8 (ANI): R and B singer Rihanna has lend her support to a Nigerian Olympic hopeful who has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

The 'Umbrella' hitmaker was heartbroken to learn of Seun Adebiyi's condition.

She has offered her support to a campaign to find 10,000 potential donors for leukaemia society DKMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor centre.

"Leukaemia interrupted Seun's dream of being the first Nigerian in the Winter Olympics," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"But together we can help him make his dream come true! We need to find him a bone marrow donor! Please sign up with DKMS," she added.

Adebiyi was hoping to become the first Nigerian to compete in the Winter Olympics, but was diagnosed with the disease as he started training. (ANI)
