Kolkata, Jan 7 (ANI): The fifth North East Business Summit titled "Explore Business Opportunities" will be held in Kolkata from January 8.
The two-day business summit is being organised jointly by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in association with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
Union Minister of Mines and Development of North Eastern Region, B K Handique, will chair the fifth North East Business Summit.
The summit will focus on building international partnerships, enhancing infrastructure in the North East, tourism, agriculture, floriculture and aqua culture, healthcare, IT and skill development and developing investment hubs.
A Chief Ministers' conclave will also be held on the occasion to discuss the perspective and strategies for the development of North Eastern Region.
Dignitaries and business delegates from the South East Asian countries and the North Eastern States are expected to attend the summit.
These include, Foreign Ministers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal and Laos, Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya, and Ministerial representatives from different sectors such as Industries and Commerce, IT and Tourism. Ambassadors and Senior Consulate representatives from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia will also attend the summit.
Officials from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and State governments of the region will also participate in the different business sessions. (ANI)
