New Delhi, Jan 6 (ANI): Yamaha Motor on Tuesday showcased the 2010 version of the YZF-R1 bike and launched the limited white colour edition of YZF-R15 bike at the week-long tenth Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Yamaha showcased its state-of-the-art product line including successful 150cc segment bikes - YZF-R15, Fazer and FZ series.
The muscle bike VMAX is also on display as well as YZR-M1. Yamaha's international models - 500cc TMAX sports scooter and 600cc XJ6 motorcycle have also been unveiled.
"The launch of R1 (YZF-R1), for me R1 is the most futuristic sports bike in its category. It is the faster sports bike in its category so I'm very excited about sitting next to R1. It feels great and I'm just looking forward to my association with Yamaha," said John Abraham, Bollywood actor and brand ambassador.
The Auto Expo, which opened on Tuesday, is organized jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India, Confederation of Indian Industry and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
Car sales in India, world's second-most populous country, are set to jump about 16 per cent this year to 1.4 million vehicles, buoyed by robust economic growth and government incentives, in contrast to a slump in many developed markets.
That, and the abundance of new models has industry insiders talking for the first time of a Delhi auto show that could rival or surpass the annual Detroit auto show in importance. (ANI)
