New Delhi, Jan 6 (ANI): Actor turned politician and Chief of the Praja Rajyam Party Chiranjeevi met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday and expressed concern over the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of demonstrations over Telangana statehood issue.
Chidambaram had on Tuesday met the leaders of eight political parties of Andhra Pradesh to discuss and resolve the vexed Telangana issue. He urged the leaders present in the meeting to help the Central Government find a solution to the Telangana issue.
"We had a discussion in detail regarding the academic year of the students, and then insecure feeling of various sectors, of walks of life and people. And then law and order restoring, it is common we spoke," said Chiranjeevi after meeting Chidambaram.
Chiranjeevi further said that he was hopeful of good outcome after a couple of meetings with Chidambaram.
"I said yes, but not fully, because since it is first step of discussions, and I don't think we will be very happy. And definitely I think after a couple of meetings, after a couple of discussions, we will get good result," he added.
In early December, Chidambaram had announced that the Centre was in favour of creation of a new state of Telangana. A backlash followed the announcement, with over a 100 MLAS from non-Telangana regions resigning in protest. (ANI)
