London, Jan 5 (ANI): England's No.1 player Andy Murray was quizzed by his teenage partner Laura Robson over his beauty treatment during their first ever mixed doubles match in the Hopman Cup.
World No.4 Murray levelled the tie against Kazakhstan after 15-year-old Robson lost her opening singles match in Perth.
And the pair then took the deciding mixed doubles against Kazakhstan in a thrilling tiebreak against after saving a match point. They finally came through 6-3 5-7 7-6 (12-10).
Murray, who is playing as preparation for the Australian Open in Melbourne, said: "It was a perfect start to the new year but it was a long day. I am going to blame it on my partner. She started to ask me if I moisturised my hands. I think she lost her concentration a bit. She is only 15."
Murray needed only 61 minutes to beat world No.133 Golubev 6-2 6-2, The Mirror reports.
Robson lost to Shvedova after the world No.52 called a five-minute medical timeout when she lost the first set.
Great Britain will next play Germany tomorrow and Russia on Friday. (ANI)
