Melbourne, Dec. 24 (ANI): Pakistan middle-order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq is expecting a tough series against Australia, but has also highlighted that the Aussie bowling attack lacks the experience and class that used to be there in the form Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.
Misbah said that while the Kangaroos still remain a tough side to beat at home, their bowling line-up has depleted over the last three to four years.
"If you look at the standard of the bowling it's really changed. At one time they had four frontline bowlers, all great bowlers, match-winners. Now it's a bit changed. They don't have Warne especially. He was one of the legends of spin bowling. So Australia is suffering a bit of a problem in their bowling, but they're still a good team," he said.
Commenting on captain Ricky Ponting, who is nursing an elbow injury and is a doubtful starter for the Boxing Day Test at the MCG, Misbah said the Aussies would pose a difficult task for a young Pakistan side, with or without the skipper.
"In their own conditions here in Australia they are really tough to beat. You have to play really well to compete with Australia in Australia. We have to play good cricket," The News quoted Misbah, as saying. (ANI)
