London, December 20 (ANI): Robert Pattinson was rejected for a role in a British film about public sex, before he signed up for 'Twilight' trilogy.
The star had gone for the auditions of romantic comedy 'Dogging: A Love Story,' but could not bag the role.
If he were selected he would have played a Newcastle-based journalist studying the UK's outdoor sex scene.
"It's all a bit surreal, to be honest. RPattz is a massive Hollywood star both Stateside and over here," the Daily Star quoted a source on the set of the film as saying.
The insider added: "But two years ago he was still trying to make a name for himself back in the UK.
"He had a decent role in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire but apart from that he was still casting around for roles.
"It was not until he landed the role as Edward Cullen in Twilight that his career truly took off.
"To be honest getting turned down for the main role in Dogging: A Love Story is a bit of a running joke with Rob's mates.
"They all think it's hilarious that he can't have been any good at dogging.Still, everything worked out in the end."
However, another actor named Luke Treadaway is now doing the film. (ANI)
