Napier, Dec 14(ANI): Pakistan team made a strong comeback on the fourth day of the final Test match against New Zealand at McLean Park in Napier, to finish the day at 347 for four wickets in its second innings.
Resuming the day on 128 without loss, Pakistan with the help of openers Salman Butt (66 runs), Imran Farhat (61 runs), Faisal Iqbal (67 runs) and Mohammad Yousuf (89 runs) erased their remaining overall deficit of 120 runs then built a lead of 99 runs with six wickets in hand, NZPA reported.
For New Zealand, Martin Guptill snapped two wickets for 28 runs from his 11 overs, while Chris Martin had one for 55 runs and Ian O'Brien one for 85 runs.
With the Test series tied at 1-1, the final day will see New Zealand bowlers attempt to dismiss Pakistan as cheaply as possible before allowing their batsmen to chase down a hopefully-small final innings total.
