London, Dec.11 (ANI): Michael Schumacher's comeback would be a massive boost for Formula One, according to the man trying to sign him.
The Sun quoted Mercedes CEO Nick Fry as saying that he was locked in talks with the seven-time F1 champ following the buy-out of Brawn GP.
Fry said: "I think whether it be Michael or another prior world champion, it just adds a very interesting element.
"Can a 41-year-old compete against someone who is 24 years old? In other sports people have proven they are very capable even at that age. It would certainly add another fascinating aspect," The Sun quoted Fry, as saying.
Fry refused to say if Schuey was on the short-list to replace Jenson Button following the champion's move to McLaren.
But Mercedes are desperate to lure the German back into F1, four years after he retired, to spearhead the new team with compatriot Nico Rosberg.
Schumacher has been working on the neck problem that forced him to scrap a comeback with Ferrari last season as a replacement for the injured Felipe Massa. (ANI)
