London, Dec 7 (ANI): Yesteryear rocker Suzi Quatro recently visited Elvis Presley's home Graceland, 35 years after declining the King of Rock and Roll's invitation for a rendezvous at the venue.
The 59-year-old Quatro was at Graceland to record a BBC Radio 2 documentary about Presley's home, which will mark the his 75th birth anniversary next year.
Quatro said she could not hold back her tears as she stepped into the Memphis mansion where the King lived for almost two decades.
"She was on tour in Memphis and had her version of All Shook Up on the American charts. Elvis heard this and phoned her up, saying 'do you want to come over?' " the Mirror quoted producer Mark Hagen, as recalling.
"Suzi would tell you it was complicated. She was in a relationship anyway. I think she was a bit scared - she is a huge Elvis fan, so to pick up the phone in that hotel room and have Elvis on the other end of the line..."
Quatro's programme takes a look at her life-long fascination with Presley's music and his influence on her singing career.
"To finally be going to Graceland after all these years. Wow - what a journey. It was very, very emotional. I was in tears many times as I traced the footsteps of Elvis Presley who was, and is, the reason I do what I do," Quatro said.
Radio 2 will broadcast the documentary on January 7. (ANI)
