London, Dec. 2 (ANI): England football coach Fabio Capello is mulling over whether his team will be among the eight seeded teams in Friday's draw, which will finally assemble all 32 contestants into eight groups of four teams.
Capello thinks the team's performances in the last two World Cups and recent world rankings would be used to decide which countries join hosts South Africa as top seeds.
However, if the seedings would be decided on the basis of world rankings, Holland would beat England, The Sun reports.
If Capello's Three Lions had beaten Ukraine in October instead of losing 1-0, they would have been safely among the top eight either way.
Meanwhile, a FIFA insider said: "There is no front-runner in terms of how the seedings will be decided and there will be arguments. Seedings in 2002 and 2006 were determined by a mixture of previous results and rankings.
"But there is a view that we need to make the rankings mean more especially as every match played, including friendlies, contribute to them. Some of the Organising Committee will say this is a chance to make the rankings more important," he added.
he final decision will be made in Cape Town today. (ANI)
