Srinagar, Dec 1 (ANI): Preparations are in full swing in the renowned tulip garden of Srinagar ahead of the seasonal Tulip festival.
Authorities in the region are busy planting saplings in 'Siraj Bagh', which overlooks the Dal Lake at the bottom of the famous Zabarwan Hills.
During the tulip season, the garden is a feast for the eyes with 60 varieties of early, mid, late and very late blooming tulips that looks like a rainbow.he authorities have decided to introduce other flowers in the garden to make it an all season garden.
"We are creating all weather garden, those who come here will see other flowers apart from tulips. We have introduced new patterns and designs in the garden," said Javaid Ahmad Shah, project in-charge tulip garden.
Tulips are in full bloom in the month of April, lending an ethereal atmosphere to the picturesque valley.
The authorities have decided to introduce 14 new varieties of the flower along with opening the garden round the year.
"The popularity of the garden has increased so much, it receives foreign and domestic tourists, people demand that the garden is kept open round the year," said Abdul Hameed, Gardner..
