Librehan report on Babri demolition tabled in Parliament

New Delhi, Nov.24 (ANI): The United Progressive Alliance government finally presented the much-awaited Librehan Commission report over the Babri mosque demolition after the Opposition stage uproar on Monday over the leakage of repot to media before tabling it in Parliament as per the propriety.

 

Union Home Minister presented the Librehan report along with the 13-page Action Taken Report (AT) in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday after the Question Hour at 12.00 p.m.

 

The decision to present the report today itself was earlier taken in a meeting of the Union Cabinet meet.

 

Earlier in the day, Parliamentary Affair Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, announced that the Government will table the report in Parliament at 12.00 noon after the Question Hour. The Government will table the English version today.

 

Meanwhile, minutes after tabling after the report, the Rajya Sabha proceeding had to be adjourned till 2.00 p.m. after Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and BJP leader Ahluwalia got into scuffle over sloganeering in the House.

BJP leaders reportedly raised slogans "Jai Shriram", which was objected to by Amar Singh. He rushed to Ahluwalia's seat and it led to scuffle.

 

Soon, other members of both the parties approached the two leaders into the well of House and started pushing each other. The whole incident took place while the discussion on the Babri reports was on.

 

SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav, BJP's Najma Heptullah and Venkaiah Naidu were seen sorting out the matter and separating the involved leaders. (ANI)
