Islamabad, Nov.24 (ANI): Pakistan National Assembly's Standing Committee on Sports has directed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to file a case against those security officials who didn't responded to the call of duty during the terror attack on the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in March this year.
During a special meeting chaired by Member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti, the committee pointed out that little action has been taken against the officials who failed to prevent the attack, in which three Lankan cricketers were injured and six police officials were killed.
The committee noted that it was the PCB's responsibility to take necessary action against all the culprits.
The committee directed the board to ensure that its directions were followed in letter and spirit, The Daily Times reports.
It also asked the PCB to seek the approval of the Sports Ministry before issuing any No Objection Certificates (NOC) to cricketers for taking part in county or league cricket in foreign countries. (ANI)
