Lucknow, Nov 15 (ANI): Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Sunday lashed out at Samajawadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for cheating him and his son and not keeping his word.
Addressing the media here, Singh said: "People asked me not to join hands with Mulayam as he betrays and cheats people and he (Mulayam) has proved that again today," Singh said.
Singh's son Rajbir also announced his resignation from the party.
Singh also shot back at SP chief saying it was Yadav who asked him for support and not the other way round.
With this the rift between two former Uttar Pradesh Chief Ministers is all but sealed.
Singh also said he would not have anything to do with the SP for which once he was considered a star campaigner.
"Mulayam had extended an olive branch to me and I accepted that. He also wanted me to join his party and when I refused he asked me to allow my son to join his party and I obliged him," Singh said.
On Saturday, Yadav said Singh was neither with the party and nor he would be inducted into the party.
"The same Mulayam who is breaking ties with me now had provided me a helicopter and arranged rallies for me during the General Elections. I got them nine seats from the Chandusi region. Now that he is frustrated after the loss in recent polls he has disowned me," he said.
Hinting his re-entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Singh said he is still committed to build the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
He also repented his decision to leave the BJP as it had made the party weaker in the state and requested Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat to take over the party and re build it. (ANI)
