Patna, Nov 15 (ANI): Police arrested a person supplying arms and ammunition to Maoist rebels and seized huge cache of arms and ammunitions from his possession here on Saturday.
"We have arrested Subodh Kumar who is a son of Ravinder Singh from an apartment near Rajeev Nagar police station. We have recovered one pistol, 650 rounds of bullets, some Naxal literature, a fake driving license, PAN card and some identity cards from his possession," said Vinit Vinayak, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patna.
Kumar's interrogation led the police to the residence of another Maoist leader.
On raiding the apartment, the police recovered three rifles, 720 rounds of bullets and some Maoist CDs.
Earlier, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has described Maoists as the biggest internal security challenge since independence.
Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said the government was willing to talk to the Maoists about issues such as poverty and corruption that are often blamed for stoking the insurgency, but insisted the rebels must first stop violence. (ANI)
