Mumbai, Nov 14 (ANI): A Mumbai Police team will go to the United States to gather more information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about terror suspect David Headley's alleged role in plotting the terror attacks on Mumbai.
They said, they are conducting a parallel inquiry into Headley's terror activities and it is inevitable for them to fly to the US to get substantial evidence about his role in the 26/11 terror attacks.
Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had registered a case against Headley and his accomplice Tahawwur Husain Rana.
The NIA is probing both Rana and Headley's role in various terror strikes in the country, including 26/11 attacks.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Police is looking into reports that Kochi was one of the places visited by Headley before 26/11.
Kerala Director General of Police Jacob Punnoose said the state police is verifying reports, including those in the media that Headley had stayed in a hotel in the city.
Punnoose added that the state police are also verifying documents at the airport on arrival of foreign passengers by domestic and international flights for the last three years. (ANI)
