West Midnapore, Nov 9 (ANI): At least four security personnel of the Eastern Frontier Rifles were shot dead by Maoist at Gidhni Bazar under Jamboni police station in West Midnapur district on Sunday.
The incident took place at around 6 pm when the personnel of Eastern Frontier Rifles were patrolling the area.
"We did not realise how they (Maoists) came.. there was load-shedding and they had switched off the light of those who had invertors working," said Ram Kisan, a personnel of Eastern Frontier Rifles.
According to officials Maoist leader Koteshar Rao alias Kishanji has taken the responsibility for the attack.
The attack came as a big blow after the Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee's visit to the West Midnapur district in an attempt to boost the local administration to flush out Maoist from the area. (ANI)
