Chennai, Nov 6 (ANI): In a record attempt, around 2,500 school kids here made paintings on glass in 60 minutes.
The task was undertaken by the students of Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai with hopes of getting enlisted in the Limca Book of Records.
The event was held to motivate the students and boost their competitive spirit.
"Earlier we created a very big Vinayaka statue, which was around 42 feet high that was also done, so it was well thought of, again fine arts, and now we did something different because we want children to participate. And that was creating something new. This was glass art that our children did it," said Stella Jebakumari, Principal, Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
For the students, the event was quite enthralling as they had fun making the paintings and filling them with different colours.
"It gives a motivation and creativity and it helps us to break more barriers in the future and we feel proud to ...," said Divya, a student.
The students made the paintings after getting training from glass painting experts for just two days. (ANI)
